Educational Policies and How They Affect Students

Education Policy in India is usually revised every few decades. The first education policy was launched in 1968, followed by the second in 1986, and the third reformation of the Indian Education system came in 2020. On July 29, 2020, the Union Cabinet took a historical decision to launch the New Education Policy. The Ministry of Education of India has announced major reforms in the education system under the National Education Policy 2020.

However, there are a lot of changes have been made in the New Education Policy in the year 2022. The old policy was amended by the Indian Government recently because of the loopholes present in it. The new policy brings individual attention to the students with special needs and provides education to them at all levels. Special benefits are provided to the students who are starting their education in Indian schools after the introduction of the national education policy in 2022. Along with this, the stages of education are also amended according to the new education trends across the world.

The NEP 2022 opens up new learning opportunities for learners. The best impact will be the change in the learning environment as well as the learning procedure for the students. The effects of the new policy will be:

  • Focusing on the skill and competency development of the students
  • Students will be provided early childhood care, which will help them to have a white foundation for learning at a young age.
  • Making students future-ready by building advanced skills
  • Making students focus on academic and non-academic pursuits
  • Provide various learning opportunities to the students like pre-primary, open, and distance-learning
  • Students will be provided with a foundation of literacy and numeracy that enables them to read and write.
  • Giving student access to counseling and other services
  • Schools will have well-trained social workers and counselors on campus.
  • Volunteer events will be present to rebound the relationship between students and teachers.
  • The new education policy has also come up with multiple exit options for mid-term drop-out students with 1-year training and 2 years of Diploma.
  • Different types of languages will be added to the school curriculum for the students. The students will also be learning the Indian Sign Language.
  • The course curriculum will reduce to help the students enhance their learning and critical thinking ability.
  • More importance will be given to the dropout reads and universal access to education will be provided at schools.

The growing opportunities also raise students’ curiosity and confusion. So taking experts’ suggestions and professionals’ help is a must for making the right career decisions. The first expert, who comes across in every student’s life, is a teacher. Hence, the Government of India has come forward to train their teachers and equipped them with futuristic teaching skills. Here are the following what teachers will learn from the new education system:

  • Introduction of professional teaching standards
  • Clearer roles and responsibilities
  • Training to monitor and improve their capabilities
  • More focus on advanced teaching skills.
  • A transparent recruitment and selection process for teacher position

In every school or educational institute, the teachers not only guide the learners for their academic excellence but also advise them in making the right career decisions.
